Around in Sound kicks off its track review category with a house release from a couple of Serbian DJ's flying under the banner of Gramophonedzie. Coming off a request from a friend, this track is one of the best house songs I have been introduced to in a while; and it samples an amazingly catchy 1940's track entitled "Why Don't You Do Right" by 'Lil Green. You can watch the uncut youtube version of the original mix below.
Gramophonedzie consists of Dj Sasha Radosavljevic and Marko Hollywood from Serbia. From a completely distant perspective (and based on fairly limited information), they seemed to have started their career in and around the Belgrade area. They continue to spin shows as a duo in the area, and have played with many big ticket acts that have come through. According to the forums on torrent tech DJ Sasha is the son of the legendary Sava Radosavljevic and provides the soulful, funk, and apparently 40's balance to the Gramophonedzie equation. Marko Hollywood on the other hand has been DJing for quite some time, and has released production work for several artists, comapnies, and movies. He was invited to the RedBull Music Academy held in Dublin back in 2000, where he acquired his taste for producing.
You can find links to their stuff through MySpace, SoundClick, Beatport, and of course everything else is available through their website. This is a great track, spread the word!
